I went through a car wash, and then had the same symptoms, except the affected headlight started to point way off to the right side of the road.

The last e90 I had, the back cover was not completely sealed after an unrelated repair. I do know there was a very minor accident on the car, years ago. I've read the stepper motors rarely "die," but can often be knocked out of place after a severe pothole. Can anyone suggest a solid starting point? Both headlights are centered correctly (no cyclops, askew angles). When starting the car, the headlights do bow up then center back down (although the headlights do seem to aim a bit low on the road, could just be me though). I've just picked up a pre lci (2006) E90 with the xenon headlights, and my adaptive headlight warning light is on the dash (shows up ~30 seconds after starting the engine).
